Michael Snavely, MD (he/him) is a Clinical Instructor in the UCSF Department of Family and Community Medicine. As a board certified Family Medicine physician, Dr. Snavely specializes in primary care and gender-affirming care. His clinical training focused on community medicine in an anti-oppression framework and he is passionate about reducing power imbalances in society as well as between patients and doctors. Dr. Snavely's research has focused on social determinants of health and reducing barriers to care for populations with less access.
Dr. Snavely earned a bachelor's degree from Macalester College and graduated from medical school at Washington University in St. Louis. He completed residency training at San Francisco General Hospital in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UCSF before joining the department as faculty."
